The History of Our 3 Day Charity Event
In 2016, the fight against Cancer became a personal challenge for the Stanley family. Our patriarch, husband, father, leader, and friend was diagnosed with melanoma cancer on avocal cord. In an industry where the voice is a craftsman's tool, one of the industry's leading auctioneers and auction owners were forced to live without the tool of his trade. Devastated yet determined, through stalwart work of The Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University, Henry Stanley overcame the odds and, while, without his auctioneering voice, lives cancer free today.
In 2017 Carolina Auto Auction's annual golf outing turned from an event for pleasure to an event with a cause. Supporting The Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University the event raised over $15,000. The commitment to the cause continued throughout the year as the an industry that Henry has supported and been a part of for almost 50 years joined the fight. In the end over $100,000 for cancer research had been raised! Then, in 2018, our 3-day the charity event raised another $100,000 for melanoma research!
So today we begin the challenge to top last year’s success. This will be a continued effort to support the research that has saved so many lives. With your participation and generosity, we are confident that our efforts will have an impact on our community for generations to come.
