What is "Silver Certified?"

May 14, 2014

If you're buying cars in the lanes, you might see various kinds of certifications or guarantees on vehicles. In order to create a consistent standard for these certifications, the NAAA developed their "Silver Certified" standard.

At Carolina Auto Auction, a few of our lease bank clients sell units that are NAAA Silver Certified - most notably Exeter Finance Corporation and Wheels Remarketing.

These units bear a special Silver Certified sticker on their windshields (see above) and are usually announced as such by the auctioneer in the lanes. Oftentimes Exeter and Wheels run multiple units in a row that are all Silver Certified.

The graphic on the left is a copy of the banner we have in our lanes for dealers to view on sale day. Buying a Silver Certified unit provides you with a high level of security in your purchase. They are also generally front-line ready vehicles, and can save you money from having to do a post-sale inspection on the vehicle. And, if you're buying online, you can trust what you're buying!
